Leather gloves - suggestions?

I'm after a classic pair of brown (ideally chestnut) leather gloves made in England.

Price range: up to £100.

Any suggestions? I had in mind RAF style gloves.

I'm after the best makers, not neccessarily brand names. Has to meet above criteria.

Two possibilities at the mo:

Aspinals (are these really made in England, or a sweatshop in the Far East?)

Alwyn Gloves (images are poor), however looks promising.

I did consider Dents, but when I checked I discovered they were sourced from all over the place. It's not clear where they are made. Methinks production line in the Far East.

I bought some chestnut brown ones at Ede & Ravenscroft last year for 60 pounds. Very nice. They do cashmere or silk lined.

My chestnut Dents gloves say "Made in The UK" inside. They are actually quite nice.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm leaning towards CJ - an interesting range of styles. I'm going to take my time over this one. After all, I'd hope to be wearing them in 10 years time.

If CJ is still around at that time, they will still be doing their best to make sure you are still wearing that pair. They gladly will reline or repair your gloves for reasonable cost.

CJ gloves look great, and the price is awesome, especialy considering the low £
What model would you wear with a pea coat or a trench? I am leaning toward the Paris(http://www.chesterjefferies.co.uk/sc...p?idproduct=20) but just want to be sure I'm not missing the 'male' section and choosing from the female catalog(The Paris seemed the less feminine while still elegant dress glove)

I think these are front runners at the mo:

I'll give it a month, have a look around, try a few on, then get a pair.

With a silk lining comes to something like £47 - very reasonable indeed.

I had a look at a pair of Dunhill gloves in their shop in Jermyn Street - £150 a pair! I don't care what anyone says, that's overpriced. I doubt if a bespoke pair would be anything like that.

Makes the point, generally speaking, that at the bottom end you're as ripped off as at the top end. One trades on the concept of cheap = value, the other on expensive = quality.

In other words, do the research, look around, form a judgement based on evidence.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
