My Kingsleys, purchased almost four years ago, are developing a nice patina, as are my other chili A-Es, better so far than my Harrisons, but I've only had the latter 2 1/2 years. Sort of wish I had bought the Park Avenue in brown Eversnow--much more handsome than the later brown version that they have just discontinued. However, I so rarely wear dress bals that I'll probably make it just fine through my remaining years in this old world of woe and dread without a pair of brown Eversnow PAs.

I have, by the way, used A-E's Leather Lotion on a variety of their shoes with no discernible ill effects.

What is (was) Eversnow?

These are my brown PAs, picked up almost new from Ebay about three or four years ago. They've patinated nicely. I suspect they may have been a special order, as they were made with the poron cushion insoles that I don't think were ever standard equipment on PAs.

To followup on previous post, I contacted AE about the original question of the post but they never responded. Thanks for the comments.

Ok, I actually did get a response from AE ...seems that the conditioner is not harmful, just redundant.

"The premium polish does contain a conditioning agent along with the a carnauba wax base and a shoe cream. The Premium Polish is a an easy one step process. "

So... then ask them why they _do_ recommend conditioner for their "custom" calfs...

But it could be that I misremember those as "burnished."

This is an extreme example of what I think of when I hear AE burnished calf. Several other examples are similar if more subtle.
