I am looking for a nice pair of leather or suede casual lace or slip-on shoes that I can wear with jeans. I have no idea where to start looking. Any suggestions?

Get yourself a good pair of boat shoes.....the shoes with a white "deck" sole. Or else, for a laceless look, get a classic loafer. penny loafers or beefroll loafers. Loafers in dark brown suede are very casual and stylish. A good pair of boat shoes and a good pair of loafers is enough to form a basic staple.
