leather boots question, wet ok?

if i buy a pair of leather boots is it ok to wear them in the snow? won't they get wet and ruin the leather? i thought you weren't suppose to let water touch leather?

Well you would have to treat them with something like Sno-Seal

Make sure you got a command sole. I wore my leather soled boots in the snow last winter. I was ice skating.

Commando soles. Like the Vibram military style soles.

Water + leather is OK. Water + Salt + Leather destroys boots.

no salt? so i guess it shouldn't wear em then cuz there's salt everywhere in the winter?
