Leather "biker" jacket

Can anyone recommend one?

I'm on the hunt for a nice leather biker style jacket. I would prefer black and modern slim type fit.

I'm not looking to spend a ton, but I do realize it won't be too cheap.

When I hear "biker", I think perfecto by schott. When you say "modern", I think cafe racer. Google them and then search the forum for the leather jacket thread.

I'm selling my Schott 641, sz 40, in steerhide if you're interested. It is like new, bought it this spring only to find that now that fall is here I've lost enough weight that it's too big on me. Similar to this one but in steerhide rather than horse....

+1 to that -- the Schott Perfecto is the standard by which all leather "biker jackets" are measured. Their cafe racer jacket is also worth a look if by "modern" you mean "minimalist". Schott jackets are still primarily made as equipment rather than as "design objects" (and any number of designers have done more fashion-forward takes on their classic designs), but like any well-made piece of equipment, they'll always look good.

Not sure how you define a ton, but I had an Aero Cafe Racer made for me, and I love this jacket.

They were a better deal when Bing was doing 30% cash back (ahh the good old days) but still a fair price for a jacket cut custom for you, and they guarantee fit, they replace free if there is a sizing problem.

I'm sure the quality on Aero is ******* superb but damn those jackets are ugly. The cafe racer looks hardly "modern". TOJ moto looks way more modern and, well, better.

Aero makes a custom jacket, so if you want a baggy dad leather you can get one. I've seen fits that look great to me, though (including a properly fitted Cafe Racer and the more vintage half-belt styles). The Aero and ToJ market doesn't really overlap, and when I think modern biker I'd go ToJ for sure.

It's his fifth post, I'm not trying to interpret what he means by modern any more than what he means by a ton of money. Uncontrol, as for this particular jacket from Aero being ugly, obviously you and I disagree. No worries, I've come to terms with the fact that you and I don't dress very similarly. The customer can have this one fit any way he/she wants, it's custom. If he likes the ToJ, great, I'm just answering a question.
