I usually wear a 30" in most pants. I ordered a 44 of the corduroy balloon trousers from ssense and no matter how I measure them, they are around ~14 (flat) or ~28.5 (round) inches at the belt, very different from the 16.1 inches (a 32" if you double!) listed on the official website or the 30 inches listed on ssense.

At the same time, generic guidance on both websites say a 44 is equivalent to a 28 inch US waist, which matches the actual garment better than the measurements 🙃

Unfortunately I've also ordered a 44 of the two pleat large trouser (from DBF directly) because it's listed as 30.7 inches, but now I'm afraid I'll have to send those back too 😬

Just wanted to give some extra info to others looking to size DBF pants.

I also take a 30 in most pants, and DBF's 46 usually fit well. I do have a pair of cotton-linen double pleats in 46 that are quite tight, however. I also have the double pleats in moleskin in a 48, and they fit quite large around the waist. I ended up taking them in... I don't think the sizing is necessarily consistent across seasons, but I'd say you'd be better off assuming 46 as your baseline.

also just got a pair of balloon trousers in off-white and the waist measurements were off. size 50 measures ~16.5" flat.

love the fit of them otherwise.

Hi Eric,

The fabric of the trousers is the same as the jacket from last season. Only the colour may be slightly different, as the material may come from a different dye bath. But the variation should be minimal.

That's weird to see about the balloon trousers. I ended up going all the way down to a size 44 in the cream pair last season which were a bit tight at the waist at first but stretched out to fit fine, and still lots of volume through the leg. I'm usually a 46 or 48 in DBF trousers depending on how much volume I want. I guess they changed the sizing this season to be more true to waist size or even a bit under?

Seems like they fit small in the waist this season even show none of the measurements provided show this.
