@ace7 and @Nicolas DBF, has the sizing/patterns for the balloon trousers changed in recent years?

It seems retailers (No Man Walks Alone and perhaps others) used to recommend sizing up one for a comfortable fit in the waist, but I'm not seeing people recommend that this season.

I have a pair where I sized up one (50) and like the fit, and I'm not sure if I should continue ordering that size or go to my more typical size (48).

Hello! I understand that it's unlikely, but I'm hoping to swap my Grandad Coat in charcoal (size 50) with the brown lining for the same version one size down (48). I love this coat, but I've lost a considerable amount of muscle mass after an accident, which I don't plan on regaining (I primarily do calisthenics now instead of heavy weightlifting). I tried on the newest Grandad coat (size 48) in NYC when I visited some friends last month, and it fits me better.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or assistance you could offer on how I might be able to make this exchange. I live in Canada (Montréal), so my options are limited; especially since De Bonne Facture does not partner with SSENSE anymore. Thank you 😊

We are suffering from what I believe the French would call "ressentiment."

Guessing it's because they don't have enough stock to make it worth it to put lots of single items online and then have to worry about keeping inventory straight between in store and online sales.

I just grabbed the previous camel hair grandad coat when a seller sold one here a couple weeks ago. It’s freaking amazing.

One thing I notice is that it has a slightly shorter belt than my newer grandad coat, and the new product pics look like they also have a shorter belt. Is that indeed the case?

Update: I bought the camel sweater. It looks gorgeous.
