Hi everyone,
This jacket is for sale on eBay, I was wondering if anyone can adress the right season of it? (That could give a hint about what kind of wool it is and if there are matching trousers somewhere to find.) I guess it is from later seasons. Anyone knows?

Best,
Erik from Stockholm
The listing suggests that it's autumn/winter. It does look quite thick, different from the Spring/Summer "cold" tropical wool

Just noticed the new season's lookbook arrived!

Looks super to me! Great green tone of that overcoat! (I was hoping for an olive corduroy casual sports jacket instead of work jacket though.)

It's so blurry it's hard to tell, but I don't think so. In the image with the DBF label it looks like a wool twill possibly
Thick indeed, I wonder if the casual jacket ever came in boiled wool. Any idea about what season? It is something of AW -21, -22 and -23 I believe.

No I'm not sure. I did a quick search through their lookbooks but couldn't find it. Someone else here might have a better idea?

I've been browsing around a bit and beginning to be confident that this is lambswool merino jacket from AW-23. They came with really nice pleated trousers in same material.(I don't think it's the traveller jacket and not in bioled wool.)

The fabric on the interior picture does look like the Edition 21 merino lambswool (it’s definitely not the boiled wool), but the label gives me pause. Most more recent De Bonne Facture pieces have labels that give the name of the atelier where the item was made (See here, for instance, for the ‘Traveller Jacket’ in the merino lambswool). The ‘Fabriqué en France’ label was more common in the late 2010s. At that time, the ‘Essential Jacket’ had buttons on the sleeves, so I think this might be the ‘Relaxed Jacket’ from Edition 13 (2019), which was made in a Japanese wool twill.

Thanks man, great, but I can't see any cuff-buttons on this one (I have the relaxed jacket from that edition in greige, one of my most worn pieces!, great edition).

I think they stopped having functioning cuffs some at AW -20. Still had on SS -20.

Sorry, that’s what I meant: the jacket doesn’t look to have buttons on the cuffs so I think is likely the Relaxed Jacket, which I didn’t think had buttons, but maybe it does, if you have one already? Either way, I would think it’s of that vintage.

On vintage shops in Paris, from earlier in the thread: you’d probably struggle to find any De Bonne Facture, but a few worth visiting for similar things: Stéphane, which is in the 17e; Chez Ammar, which is also in the 17e and just round the corner; and Simon’s in the 13e. Déborah, the designer at De Bonne Facture, recommended Simon’s to me some years ago. She used to (probably still does) go there for inspiration (and also to Les Puces). Brut Clothing also has a connected vintage shop.

Oh tanks, I appreciate that! I f you have any spots to reccomend, cafe's, bars or whatever, I am happy to hear. We'll spend six nights in Belleville, looking very much forward to the trip!

(Great notice about the label, yes they hade cuff buttons on AW19 and SS20)
