"Lav. Artigiana" - what does it mean?

What does "Lav. Artigiana" mean? I've seen it under shoes both in the very highend aswell as in some middlepriced shoes. Is it just a rewriting of "Traditionally made" or is it a standardised term for a specific process?

Translates roughly as "artisan-made." Probably meaningless, but I could be wrong.

lavorazione artigiana means it's an "artisan's work", which implies it is handmade, in small quantities, and not in a factory. of course, this is not always the case.
