http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....me=WDVW Lattanzi by Kiton - what does this mean?
I'm pretty sure he's just thrown in the word "Kiton" to pick up more searches, since Lattanzi isn't nearly as well known a name as Kiton.
I believe that Lattanzi makes shoes for Kiton, as it's been mentioned in a few places, including on styleFORVM.
I know that Lattanzi makes shoes for Brioni, so this is probably a similar situation.
Kiton shoes are made in-house
Is this still the case? Unless the Lattanzi for Kiton shoes that are being sold at Barney's, etc. are fakes, Kiton has at least some shoes made by Lattanzi.
[retracting my retraction.]
Barney's Where? Not in NY...
This is what Bergdorfs told me - that they have now devoted part of the Kiton factory to shoe making. Of course, we all know how up front salespeople can be about outsourcing... not
Maybe it was Bergdorf's. I really don't have first hand knowledge -- I'm only speaking based on at least two prior threads here on the subject of Kiton's new shoes.
They're probably from Bergdorf. Lattanzi was consulted as a possibility for making Kiton shoes several years ago, but Kiton went in-house for their shoes.
Until this past year Kiton rebranded Latanzi's and sold them as their own shoes. Kiton, however, decided to go in shop and purchase a factory (unclear if they just got a latanzi factory or what).
I confirmed this with a very rude Kiton salesman when I was in Paris this past summer. Interestingly, they were having a sale on shoes while I was there in an attempt to get rid of all the Latanzi Kitons before the new home grown Kitons were to come in. I've never come so close to a 1200 dollar impulse purchase in my life - the main impidement to the purchase (outside of the cost, already being in debt, etc) was that at the time I was still in the the first circle of fashion fettish hell, ie only obsessed with shirts.
Cannot say what I would do now if I were presented with that opportunity again. That Kiton is a tempting tempting siren.
Picture says Louis Boston. Those are some great looking Specs... Too bad I'd need 2 for each foot in a size 7.
