Hi, I'm looking for a place to buy some shoe lasts. I have searched and it's hard to find a place for suitable lasts. Anyone know a place? Thanks.

Why do you want them? Are you planning to start manufacturing shoes or what? I think the manufacturers usually design their own lasts and these are proprietary.

If you plan to be a bespoke cordwainer, you would presumably create an individualized last for each client.

I get a sense you may mean something else.

I don't know where you are based, I can give you some names in Europe (but don't know any in the States).

Try here:

http://www.springline.net/index.html
http://www.spenle.de/

They certainly can supply you with a pair of lasts in the required style and size: whether the last will fit you perfectly, is another matter.
If you want to start making or fitting lasts or want to dabble in making your own shoes, they would be a good place to start with.

This forum for shoemakers (whose members are either professionals or serious amateurs) could help you with specific questions:
