1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Every pair of shoes I've ever bought for my wife has been returned. Either the fit or look didn't work.

    I stick with jewelery.

I'm sure you have explored the usual (books, CDs, cashmere or silk scarf, jewelry, etc) which can all be tricky in their own way.

I'd suggest something that can potentially fit women of all ages, provided they like to be pampered: a facial + massage at a beauty salon, or a day at a spa, depending on your budget.

I wouldn't dare to try and buy shoes for a woman. Given that that she who must be obeyed feels it necessary to visit every shoe shop in a given town, trying on many different shoes and still not able to arrive easily at a decision, what hope would I have of getting the right thing?

This year I commissioned a traditional brooch (RAF 'wings') in white and yellow gold from a working jeweller who makes regimental jewellery. Old ones come up on Ebay quite often, but modern ones (with the Queen's crown) very rarely. Indeed, the only decent one I have seen was by Asprey, and £15k.

www.bluenile.com currently has free 2-day FedEx shipping. I have ordered these earrings Earrings and this necklace Necklace for my wife. I think if you order by Wednesday, you could still get something delivered in time for Christmas. I also picked up a cashmere sweater twinset (tank and cardigan) for her as well. Hope this helps...
