I was able to get copies of the Japanese magazine LAST through Kinokuniya, a local Japanese bookstore. They're about $19 a copy, well worth it if you enjoy shoe-Appreciation. They were able to get me Vols 1,3,4, and 5, so I'm missing vol 2. They may still have a few copies in-house or else it takes 4-5 weeks to special order. I have a few extra copies that I'll put on the Buy/Sell forum. Kinokuniya bookstore

Hmm - not sure if any one of them specifically focuses on Lobb, but I'll find one that may have more than the others an I'll set it aside for you.

These magazines, I'm going to assume, are only printed in Japanese, right?

I suppose the photos would be enough to cause salivation, in any case.

No one buys Playboy for the articles.

Can anyone provide the ISBNs for these?

The numbers for a few have been posted before, but I neglected to write them down (oops), and the forum search function is still a little touchy.

Thanks.

As far as I (or the salesperson at my bookstore) can tell, these magazines have no ISBN numbers. The salesperson also mentioned that they can be referred to by the number 11916-XX where -XX refers to the publication month:

Vol 1: 11916-05
Vol 3: 11916-05
Vol 4: 11916-11
Vol 5: 11916-05

They're not exactly unique are they? Hopefully they are meaningful to someone though. It may help to mention that they're published by Esquire Japan.

I'm not sure what shipping to Australia costs, but I'd be happy to place the order in NYC and ship it to you (or anyone else who has trouble finding these magazines).

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
