Trier: You can compare the film with 'Titanic'. Everyone knows that the ship will go down. The question is just how and when it happens. Melancholia begins with the destruction of Earth and then jumps back in time. It is not about who survives because there is no one who survives. This is my first film with an unhappy ending.

i kind of liked the antichrist. the sadistic parts of it were difficult to sit through, but after watching it i found my dad had watched it and we had a nice long conversation about the movie
