Laptop messenger bag

My laptop bag's handle just broke. I'm looking for something along the same line as the Timbuk2 Laptop Messenger bag. It must have a padded laptop compartment, padded handle and waterproof. Other than that, I'm fairly open. I'll be carrying an IBM thinkpad T-series 14" and 1 or 2 big books. Any recommendations? Oh, under 100 bucks would be great. Thanks.

Just bought the medium-sized Ortlieb Sling-it today for that purpose (and holding bigger books). http://ortlieb.de/_prod.php?lang=en&produkt=slingit#
It looks a lot better in reality btw., esp. in medium.

Ortlieb are great products, probably the best workmanship around. All made in germany, environmentally friendly and they are extremely thought-out (strap to keep the bag to stay on your back while cycling, different surfaces, etc.

I have been looking for the exact same thing basically. Something to hold my T60p, that will allow me to ride as well. Timbuk2 did not interest me at all, and the link above looks rather lame as well... I suppose i need to just look for a good messenger bag and just pick up a neoprene sleve. Perhaps Chrome?

If you want to be hip with the kids on the street, Chrome is the way to go.

if you're riding your bike around and ****, chrome is the way to go b/c of that release buckle; but be careful at school. you don't wanna look like a wannabe.

These guys have the Chrome Vagrant bag that I like. They look a bit fishy though. Any thought on the vendor or the bag? It's sold out in all colors from the Chrome website. Yeah the reason i have not purchased one is due to that buckle...maybe if it had a dark plastic one on there i would be a little more apt to purchase. For me personally the buckle is just a little to flashy, i dunno, but i may be using it on my bike too..
