I just got a new laptop like a month ago. I thought my older dell was huge, but this new HP won't even fit into my old bag.

It's an HP Pavilion dv9000. I don't know if that's in the bigger range these days but it was certainly the biggest one in BestBuy. Where can I find a good laptop bag that's fairly slim but still sturdy enough to protect the machine from small knocks? I would prefer something a bit on the nicer side, let's say $200-300.

Thanks

I'm planning on getting a sleeve for my laptop and using a leather attache case to put it in.

That sideways De Gaulle bag is quite interesting. That sleeve is quite handsome too, I'd love to see the white and red. I was just going to get a less expensive black neoprene one.

I use a Timbuk2 Commute bag for school. After having it for 2.5 years and 2 aweful winters, I am really impressed. The bag still looks like new. I usually carry my IBM 14" laptop, 1-2 books, a legal pad, and a stack of paper. It has always protected the content of my bag. Although a bit heavier than the other Timbuk2 bags, all the added padding are worth it.

Wow, those wantessentials.com bags are pricey, $1000, very nice but a little out of my price range, unfortunately.

I've always wanted an attache case for a laptop and, of course, I find it first on domain called briefcase.com, who would have thought?

Not sure about the quality, but this is what I want, with a suit at least.

^^^ I'm really digging the white bag on that site. I am scared to ask how much.

I just bought an InCase small padding bag that doubles as a heftier sleeve. That way, I can carry it in any bag I choose. I never liked the idea of laptop specific bags. Too much of a dead giveaway of the good you are lugging around.

One thing you should consider with these bags is where you are going to set it down. I was originally gonna spend 1.5-2k on a bag, but I ended up getting a generic black laptop bag that I carry like a briefcase. In the end, I'm happier. It doesn't look as cool, but I don't worry about setting it down in the subway or resting it on the floor when i'm stuck using public washrooms, or am in a class that's too full to put it on the desk or another chair. Being able to put it down is especially a concern if you have one of the big ones like violinist says he's got.

http://customhide.com/scholar_laptop_w_pockets.html I think I'm going to get this one in whiskey. Seems versatile enough and well made. Someone else on here posted the site.

I want a sleeve to put my 12" G4 in while it is inside the laptop briefcase.

Here is a place that will sell you in in Irish Tweed haha.

For that price I'll make my own!
