How good are Lanvin suits? Are they comparable to Zegna, Canali, Corneliani? I've only seen them while in Italy, and the fit seemed rather boxy compared to other suits. They seemed like perfect politician suits.

The high-end Lanvin suits that I have seen were made by Canali. Rather expensive for a Canali suit - they were about $1700 at Bernini, and that was in 2002 I believe.

I believe the very top-end Lanvin clothes are made by Belvest. My father-in-law just picked up some Lanvin stuff originally from a Japanese Lanvin boutique; most of the items were Canali, but one suit was a Belvest. I think it was labeled "Lanvin Classique," but I could be mistaken. It is a very nice suit, in a 3 button style.

Very nice suits but cut not slim at all.

What does mean "boxy"? Does it refer to shoulders with pading?

4 lines :
half fused = start at 660 euros
traditional = machine sewn = start at 1 200 euros
half hand sewn = start at 2 000 euros
100% hand = start at 2 700 euros

Check my pictures as I bought 6 Lanvins suits this week (traditional)

I afraid I will have to sell them and it makes me cry because they are beautifull in fabrics and construction. Difficult to come back to less expensive suits after.

Not the roll of lapels which is rather important, it looks strange when you wear the suits
