Older LE's aren't too bad, but you can do better. I'd rather have a J Crew than one of the LE's. If you don't mind older stuff ebay has a lot of excellent quality cashmere for pretty cheap (eg, Alan Paine, etc.).

Sierra Trading Post has quite a lot of cashmere listed at present, too.
I think that there are a few 20% off codes floating around at present, which will make any STP purchase even more affordable.

Check ebay often and you might be able to snag something nice for around $100. I see a lot of RLBL cashmere for that price and I think it's a good value. Or stick around here--I got a RLPL black cashmere crewneck from the B&S board recently and it's really nice--silky smooth and soft as a baby's bottom but substantial enough that it won't pill, fluff or stretch after a few wears. It's more decadent than Blue Label so you'll pay a little more. I also don't know how Land's End compares with RLBL, so maybe someone else can chime in.

I would not waste the $ on LE. My wife got one and it pilled VERY quickly. For a quality sweater, I'd just as soon pay more to get more....
