Lacoste Polo Logo Removal?

Does anyone know if it's possible to remove the logo from a Lacoste polo without ruining the shirt? It looks as if it's just stitched on around the edges of the logo. I should be able to have a tailor take it off. Has anyone done this before?

I just picked up an Italian fit long sleeve polo. I really like the fit but I'm not a fan of the logo on the front. Actually, Lacoste makes quite a bit of stuff I would buy if it didn't have the logo.

You can try it, but given that the stitching/logo may have stretched/marked the fabric, you might just end up with a polo shirt with an obviously missing Lacoste logo on it... I don't know which is worse, but I'd just rather have the logo than a weirdly deformed area on my shirt.

(Note; I tried to do the same thing with a Fred Perry toboggan some years back... unstitching it looked worse.)

i will never, ever understand the mentality of people that remove pocket stitching from jeans and ****. what's wrong with you? is it so important to you to look nondescript, holding up your nose at the unwashed masses who are so uncivilized as to wear anything but completely unmarked clothing? jesus christ

some people like the products and they don't like the logo. you don't understand that? In the late 90s Nike was getting complaints because they had an average of 12 swooshes on each shoe. **** that

Removing the logo works best if you do it before the first wash. I wouldn't try it with any kind of "prewashed" finish. and that's no ******* joke.

funny, I'm sort of the opposite. I only buy fred perry polos and shirts because it has the logo. If they started making shirts without the laurel, I doubt I would buy as many as I do now. It helps I like the fit and overall designs too, but the logo is a big part of it for me. It's cuz I grew up with the brand and I like all the subcultural baggage that comes along with the laurel. If I were to analyze myself, it's also cuz growing up I could only get the solid color polos with self color laurel at TJ Max and I never felt "right" not having a "proper" fred perry with the contrast cuff and collar

I recently passed on a baseball neck polo because it had a self colored logo that was hardly visible and it just didnt look right

Each to their own. I would buy more RL stuff if it did not have the pony all over the place. The two pairs of Vans I have both have the tags cut off and the little heel logo rubbed off. Does this really upset you that much?

Personally I don't mind the tiny logo. But Lacoste is now making polos with 2" wide logos, possibly so it can eat a huge Polo pony. Perhaps that's what the OP is trying to remove?

Perhaps you only have experience with fake Lacoste polos? In my experience Lacoste's cotton pique quality and construction is really good. Much, much better than GAP.

Does anybody else have trouble taking anything seriously from a member whose screenname is "Fudgebutt?"

It's like going to a job interview and when your potential boss asks for your email to contact, you tell him it's one of those "sexyhotcooldude@blaghblagh. com" or something. A total credibility killer. I mean, I'm not saying my screenname is great or anything (I've already berated its lameness on other threads), but come on... Fudgebutt???

I've done it successfully with a couple Lacoste polos. It just takes some time, patience, and stitch breaker.

I'm sorry if you think the quality between a GAP polo and a authentic Lacoste polo from the store are certainly not the same thing. The large price difference likely doesn't warrant the differnce in quality, but the difference is certainly there.

i don't like the logo (it's a cute animal, but i'd like lacoste shirts better without them), but i think it's a little too try-hard to remove the logo, especially because the alligator shadow will remain

Quality is much better than Gap, imo. THe fabric and feel, as wel as drape are different.

However, in my country it had such baggage that I never wore it and most likely never will (esp if there's a visible logo)
