I love this coat. I just brought one back from Germany. It's now my favorite, a dusky grey/navy with patch pockets. Fit is excellent. Question: what is the purpose of the white bouton on the lapel?

Was just at the Old Town location (where Phil works) and the River North one this afternoon. Both had great selections of F/W LBM. Wanted to grab a couple myself but after two Thom Browne suits, a pair of Alden shell shortwings and an Inverallan cardigan, my October is officially a no-buy month for me. :fu:

Great stores though; probably some of the few left in Chicago that are worth visiting and worth it alone for their LBM selection.

This sort of unstructured stuff can make a nice change of pace for casual wear. But they're very casual. I have a few of this sort of thing, though not from this line, and have never really warmed to how the front tends to hang open, exposing the interior cloth behind the buttons. (You can see this on several of these coats.) I always miss the traditional lapel roll, though maybe that's my hangup. The lack of lining also makes them pretty sticky, so they tend to cling to the shirt and pull in odd ways. Just something to think about before pulling the trigger.

These also tend to be figure revealing. If you are doughy/mooby or have very sloped shoulders, try before you buy.

These are the two that prompted my reaction, really. I have a couple with rolls that look the same when on the hanger, and they look the same on me, with the back of the buttons displayed. But, again, I haven't tried this line. I'd like to check out one of the three buttons.

I like them a lot as well.

I have two jackets - one navy cotton one and a FU linen coat. And a linen/cashmere herringbone in the mail on the way.

Very similar to boglioli in a lot of ways.

+1. I just saw 3 pairs of LBM 1911 pants on gilt for $99 each.

What's the difference with Boglioli's Coat line? The jackets shown above look very similar.

Not much. A lower price tag, for one. A retailer I met called LBM 1911 the "poor man's boglioli".

I bought a linen LBM blazer from Yoox a while ago and had to send it back - nice fabric but the shoulders were too padded for my liking and I did not like the overly pronounced pick stitching. It looked similar to #1 bought by OP. At $600, these are expensive for the "quality."

The Boglioli fabrics are much nicer.

    Oh hells yeah!

I picked up a boglioli linen/silk K-jacket a bit back. Sizing was way off, but compared to my reasonably similar LBM-jacket, the fabric was absolutely fantastic. I like the little tough of throwing in buttons in all manners of colors too.

I have one. I like it but I wish it would be longer. They are very short. Otherwise nice. I removed all fancy "stuff" from mine (elbow patches, stuff on the collar, etc). It looks better "clean".
