Did anyone else get the Trunk Show post card from Stanley Korshak promoting the following:

    John Lobb

Traditional Italian Hand Crafted and Hand Stained Leather Shoes

Andrew, you jumped to conclusion too quickly. There's a Japanese Lobb which is made in Italy. May be that's what the trunk show is for.[IMG]

Damn, I knew those Osners I got for Korshak seemed flimsy. Now that I look closely, they've got "hand made in the mountains of Italy" on the sole.[IMG]

For more than four decades, Southern California's best dressed surfers have been wearing bespoke Juan Lobb huaraches.

Group tours to the Lobb workshops in Tijuana, Mexico, are still quite popular. The craftsmen in Tijuana claim some kinship with a group of artisans in Northampton, England. [IMG]

call Korshak to tell them! maybe they'll give you a discount for noticing, like Martin Greenfield offered to someone who correctly counted the number of stitches in the lapels of his jackets...[IMG]

I suppose this a bit akin to Bergdorf's website saying some of its Charvet shirts are "Made in Italy". That or M. Colban has some explaining to do.

Actually, only the design is made in Italy, nowadays. Actual production of the shirts has been outsourced to some shady Hong-Kong outlets.

Come on, RJman, you did not really believe those fine fellows on the 2nd and 3rd floors had anything to do with production at Charvet right? They are only models.

Bergdorf's website says that Charvet's silk knit ties are made in France but they're made in Italy. I brought it to BG's attention over a year ago but it remains on the website.
