Where can I find shoes like those? I know you can no longer get Suzuki shoes, but I would like to find a similar style of shoe. What style are they? Who makes them?

p.s. by style i mean the elogated front with the point tip.

I'm sure if you posted a picture of a shoe you liked somebody could suggest a rtw option.
In any case, you might want to stop and catch your breath on the way up from KC to KS.

'tis true. Any suggestions? I see lots of names being thrown around but never any real guide as to differing levels of qualities among makers.

There are certain French, English, and Italian bespoke makers who probably don't have that extensive a waiting list.

For example, Roberto Ugolini, and Gaziano & Girling.

In case you haven't heard, Tony Gaziano is coming to the States this week and will be visiting three cities. Its pretty likely that he could make up something along the lines of what you're looking for. However, you must be prepared (financially) to make the commitment. Also, Kiton makes a pretty attractive shoe with a narrow toe, and others may as well. To find out more about either, search this site as well as AAAC.

Pierre Corthay in Paris sells shoes with elongated pointed tips.

Crockett & Jones has a new last with a sharper chisel (the 348 last?) -- it should be available from places like Pediwear, www.plal.com and maybe some Ralph Lauren shops, as well as Richard James.

Kenneth Cole is junk, overpriced, overmarketed and oversold. Between it and Koji Suzuki is a world of shoes of decent to excellent quality.
