Knitted Jersey Shirts

I now have a few of these from Polo Ralph Lauren and Harvie and Hudson. When is it appropriate to wear them?
I have worn my Blue RL Polo to the office a few times. Are these alternatives to dress shirts? OCBD's? Or just as an alternative to a long sleeve Pique Polo in a casual environment?

I used to have a few from Kamakura and I mostly wore them causally. I don’t see why they couldn’t be worn with more business formal attire.

I came here, after a search, to ask this very same thing. It strikes me that they seem much more comfortable than even my most comfortable woven dress shirts, so I started to imagine just wearing them in that way, with a tie and under a jacket or casual suit. Was just curious how many other people tried the same thing.

Edit: Ah, now I see the ones from Kamakura! Those look hardly distinguishable from regular woven shirts. (And perhaps even more so in regard to Leno cloth shirts.) I'd have no qualms at all about wearing those in that way (and will see about ordering now!). I do have some that are styled more like the pink one in the original post, though with spread collars, which are the ones I was thinking about.

That one is all-cotton. I'm really curious what the cotton-poly blends are like, the ones that looks for all intents like a regular dress shirt, as far as I can tell.

I wouldn't consider the cotton blend shirts. The 100% cotton that was linked looks fine, virtually looks like a Pique or Oxford woven...

I didn't get to wear my jersey knit shirts this year, as I rarely left the house I kept my OCBD's from Spring all the way through Summer into Fall/Autumn.

My wardrobe is full of Sea Island and Giza 45/70/87 cotton. If I want inexpensive cotton I purchase Supima. I wouldn't ever consider Polyester or Cotton blend.What's next plastic sliders instead of GYW shoes?...
