Square bottom knits are only for Brown grads who work for the ACLU.

As a UC Santa Cruz grad who works in public radio, I feel comfortable in either style of knit.

Just purchased my first Grenadine Knit Square Bottom tie today. It's a Boss Hugo Boss 2-tone tie in chocalate and yellow green. Debating about returning or selling it. The colors are great, but I am not sure about the square bottom.

For some reason, the knit ties with a point bottom look weird to me. When I imagine a knit tie in my head, I see a square bottom.

    I'd say it's the equivalent of a knotched lapel DB jacket....it's just....weird.

I just bought a couple of knit ties in Hardy Amies' dying sale on Saville Row, it was pretty depressing but the ties are nice and were very very cheap, I am not sure about the square bottom, but I am going to try them out and see if they become 'comfortable' I am sure its just a case of how used to them you are.
