Im starting an internship for the summer and the dress code is business professional. Would these knit ties be too casual to wear? I like them but I don't want to buy them if I won't be able to wear them to work.

I would say that they would be fine in most environments, but frankly, this is highly office dependent. Phonem and ask the administrative assistant. They see everything that goes on.

Agree, we are easier on interns than most firms on the street, but I would not be too fired up if an intern showed up in a knit tie.

It depends entirely on office norms and the local interpretation of "business professional."

Because nobody here (other than you) has any idea where you will be doing your internship and how people there dress, it is impossible to provide you with a meaningful answer to your question.

Might you be visiting the place in question between now and the start of your internship? If so, keep your eyes open and notice what sort of ties people are wearing. Otherwise, play it safe and don't buy/wear those knit ties you like unless and until you've begun your internship and are satisfied that the ties would be appropriate.
