Kiwi shoe polish: "oxblood" vs. "cordovan" for burgundy shoes

I wanted to create this thread so that if anyone is searching for this topic in the future, they can find their answer by searching here or via Google. Below is an e-mail I received back from a Kiwi service rep regarding the appropriate choice of Kiwi polish for burgundy shoes:

Well congrats on an eight year necro-post!?

I have both colours. Kiwi cordovan is a dark red so dark that it’s almost black. It would work on what Alden calls ‘colloid number 8’ cordovan which is in turn a very dark eggplant purple that in low light would look almost black.

Kiwi Oxblood is a much lighter colour, more like dark cherry red and IIRC was the colour of choice for lads in my youth who had red Doc Marten boots.

No idea what the official word from Kiwi was in the OP but this is my own experience of using them.
