Went to NM Last Call (Dallas) today to check out Columbus Day sale. Small rack of "designer" sport coats at 30% off less another 20% for using NM card. Tried on 2 Kiton cashmere sport coats originally from B-G and marked $4995 and $5195 respectively, reduced to $2495. So, less 30 and then another 20, well that would bring them around $1400.
No worthwhile suits, btw, on sale. But everything in the store is still less 20% for NM card purchases (through Columbus Day).
Here's the question... I wear a 40 or 41 regular in a boxy American suit like a Hickey and generally do best with a 52 european in Brioni, Zegna (although I can sometimes get by with a Zegna EU 50 by letting out the hips) or Isaia. All that NM had were 52's in those Kitons and they were huge-- very broad in shoulders and huge in chest. Impossible really to alter. So, I reluctantly passed. Even wife was disappointed because she loved them.
I do not own any Kiton but was always under the impression that they were cut quite slim and the few garments I've tried on over the years have been slim.
Are there any Kiton experts out there who can shed some light on the fit?
