Kiton Cashmere Sport Coat and Shoulder Pads

Hello All,

I just got a very nice Kiton cashmere sport coat. (Thanks Mr. M!) To my suprise, it has fairly substantial shoulder pads. Not huge, but more prominent than I expected and more than I think I prefer. Although I probably could get used to it. None of my suits or sport coats have much shoulder padding at all; I am a natural-shoulder type.

Can that be altered? What's involved? It would seem to change the fit around the shoulder area fairly substantially, and the effective sleeve length as well.

I will probably see if Kiton themselves are willing to do the work. Anyone know if they are willing?

As you have discovered, Kiton offers many cuts, as does Belvest, for example.

alteration.

I've had two jackets altered with this problem and had varying success.

My alterations guy replaced the pads with thinner inserts. One jacket turned out absolutely fine while the other had all kinds of problems around the shoulder / top of sleeve which was very difficult and costly to make good.

Will Kiton be willing to do this? I am not really any kind of good customer. More of an Attolini and Barbera wearer.

What is the price range of a Kiton sport coat? Do they use 100% cashmere?
