Hard to say since the jacket in the second photo isn't buttoned up. Shoulders look ok in both.
Thank you so much! I finally managed to find a relevant photo in my trash. Lucky save thank god. IT48, cashmere jacket with slightly more room than the wool jacket I got, button closed.

Maybe it's just a European perspective but this looks too big to me. There looks like there's an inch of extra fabric about the side of your pecs and your lats and therefore the jacket isn't producing any curve around your waste. The collar isn't sitting on your neck, and that's with the shirt open. If you had a closed shirt this fault would be even more pronounced. The shoulders could come in nearly an inch. Also, if you draw a straight line down from where the shoulder meets the sleeve it comes out about three inches from your leg which I think is too much. The sleeve length is about a half inch too long. Finally, the body length particularly on your right arm is an inch too long. I don't mean to be negative but if you're making this kind of investment in such a beautiful jacket you want it be right and to enjoy the jacket every time you wear it. I think as the jacket wears and softens slightly many of these flaws might become even more noticeable.

I agree that this jacket doesn’t look good on you, at least not from this photo. The collar does not seem to fit your neck snugly. It almost seems like the jacket is sliding backward? Maybe related but the front balance is short—the vertical lines of the check are converging towards the hem instead of running vertically.

I don’t share the same concerns about the shoulder width.

White Truffle and you are absolutely right. I’m sorry the photo wasn’t well taken—it was snapped right after I put on the jacket, without adjusting it properly. As a result, some parts ended up awkwardly crawling over my back and shoulders.

That said, I’ll patiently wait for the IT48 jacket to arrive and take some good photos for you to see! If it doesn’t work out, I’ll definitely exchange it for the IT46.

In the meantime, here’s a little photo of the fabric to show just how beautiful it is!

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
