    i think more important than the style of a kitchen is its layout, the worksurface materials, and the equipment. beyond that it doesn't matter much if it's 'traditional' or 'modern'.

    just don't use ceramic tile for your countertop. all that grout is a bitch to clean.

    Definately. Bad style can be changed, but bad layout will hamper your kitchen everyday

    Personally I don't like kitchens that resemble a living room.

    It might be a good idea to start talking about kitchens in this thread....

    The futuristic "Z. Island by DuPontâ„¢ CorianÂ[IMG]" creates an "intelligent" environment that responds to the desires of the senses, while meeting a variety of conventional and innovative functional kitchen needs. The project envelops multimedia equipment, sound actuators and LEDs within a flowing shell of CorianÂ[IMG] - the original solid surface from DuPont - enabling users to surf the internet, listen to music or create a particular ambience by means of a centralized touch-control panel.

    "Z. Island by DuPontâ„¢ CorianÂ[IMG]" consists of:

    - two free-standing island units, one devoted to the functions associated with "fire" in the kitchen and the other with those associated with "water";
    - a wall modular cabinet system (complementing the two islands) providing space for storage and appliances;
    - a wall cladding system incorporating special equipment with advanced sound and light diffusion capabilities;
    - an impressive bench of over 5 metres long and a stunning reception desk).

    I can never figure out whether I hate or love the work of Zaha Hadid. I will say that Corian is a very under-utilized product in the United States. It is really good stuff.
