Here's the deal......I'm looking for one more pair of killer jeans to add to my current rotation of RRDS and 5EP boot. This will probably be my last pair for about 6 months, so I want to make the right choice. Was very close to ordering AW Cougars, but Kicking Mule has caught my eye. I know Denim Bar carries it, but does anyone have any pics, opinions, or general info on their cuts, style, quality etc? Any info is appreciated.

Well, there is a picture of P2G2 in here wearing his somewhere, I think. Denim is good quality, and construction on the old ones was good. DenimBar actually has the new lot, all made in Japan, and Mauro tells me that the construction is considerably better than the old ones (made in China, but with Japanese denim.) The model I like and am familiar with is the 1980, which is roomy in the seat and somewhat relaxed through the thighs, but slimming down in the legs.

$250 retail, $200 shipped with the Styleforum coupon.

Ahh..and they are right at my self imposed $200 limit. Do you know anything in regards to the cut?

If I remember correctly (their website is under construction) there are 4 styles. A regular straight leg, boot cut, loose, and I can't remember the other. I had the regular straight leg (which I bought from Denimbar) and I liked them a lot. Minimal styling, good denim, fit well. I sold them to a styleforum member because I bought my normal size and they became too big. I would recommend trying them on first or maybe ordering a size smaller? I am a 36/32 and that's what I bought. I should've bought a 34 or 35 to allow for stretching. I think I paid around $200-$250 for them. If you use Denimbar's coupon they should be in your price range. website

Um, I edited my post to include this info. Contextclothing.com has good pictures of the fit (but not the same great price, though those guys are cool.)

Thanks for the info, guys. I checked Context and they look pretty nice. I also dug up a little info on them over at Sufu. Not sure I totally embrace the selvedge coin pocket, but like the J stitch on the 5EP's I can probably deal with it if everything else is stellar. I'll have to call Denimbar for more particulars. I just hope the denim has a little more richness than my Nudies!?!

Well, apparently they are all made in Japan now, and are the denim is closer to 5EP.

the new denim is great, such a nice feel to it and i imagine it will break in really incredibly. the detailing is huge step from the old kmw stuff, yet is still really very subtle.
