I would most def trade the trousers for a pair of jeans and the black shoes/belt for brown ones.

Sounds like she is taking charge in the style dept.....oh well that is another story..

On a date you want to wear what makes you feel as comfortable as possible. If it is jeans and a blazer then wear that. Where are you going?? that would help to know?

I see lots of guys in jeans and blazers/jackets escorting women in dresses. It is all about the fit and look of the overall outfit.

Jeans and a blazer or jacket, you will be well dressed. A lot of women wear trim dresses or jeans.

I don't like the combo, but then I rarely see a light jacket/dark pant combo that I like.

All she will see is that you complied with her request; this is good.

But seriously get yourself to a tailor and ask that the pants be hemmed to avoid that pool of excess material at your feet. And possibly let him have a go at your jacket, maybe he can take in the waist a bit or adjust the sleeves. A tailor is what you need when it comes to all questions about how your clothes looks.

I appreciate all the info.

And yeah she works/sells mens clothes in a nice retail store. As for me, It is all new so i'd agree she has taken charge in that dept. it would seem.

I expect the only response around here that you're going to get on that is that (most) women don't know the first thing about men's clothing, they only think they do.

Then again, while that may be true when you're on a date to a certain degree you're going to want to put on clothes that your date will like. As long as they fit in a certain range of clothes that you would normally wear, i.e. feel comfortable in.
