A few weeks back I purchased several pocket squares from SFer Kent Wang. I have been very, very pleased with the experience, from the easy to use ordering system, to the incredibly rapid shipping speed, to the quality of the end products. So much so that when additions to my shirt rotation were required, I looked to Sid Mashburn locally, and Kent Wang.
I ordered the Purple Gingham check shirt, in 16.5. Normally, I am a perfect 16 34/35, so I had to choose between Kent's 15.5 and 16.5, as he does not carry a RTW 16. I am VERY glad I ordered the size I did, as the shirt is very slim fitting. Most slim fitting shirts barely earn the moniker with waist suppression, but Kent Wang's shirts are slim fitting in the sleeves too. I love how it looks, and it solves lots of problems I didn't really realize I had with overall fits, but it does feel a little strange in the arms. I guess the point is that most "slim fit" shirts are hardly slim fit; Kent Wang's are. For reference sake with the forthcoming pics, I am a typical 40R, and slim (32/33 in the waist, depending on actual sizing).
As expected, the collar is a little big, but not egregiously so. I wonder why a true 16 34/35 isn't available off the shelf (the next size down is 15.75"), but I'm happy with the fit anyway. The collar is a nice spread, and it looks as good without a tie as it does with, IMO, though the size of the gingham gives the nod toward a more casual fit, naturally. The MoP buttons are lovely, and the cotton appears to be high quality. I don't normally care for mitered barrel cuffs, but I find them true to the boldness of the shirt, in this case.
