Can someone explain this new fitting system? Has the web order form been updated?

The differences between new system and old system orders are fairly subtle. My impression is that the new system has a lower buttoning stance and a slightly straighter lapel. The biggest difference is in shaping: my "new system" jacket follows the contours of my back much more closely, while my "old system" jacket is flatter and fuller. Most people will feel that the new system offers a better fit on that account, I think.

These two jackets have different features that are down to my choices rather than to anything about the two ordering systems. The top photo is my "new system" order with soft shoulders, soft full canvas, round patch pockets, and 6mm pick stitching. The bottom photo is my first "old system" order with soft shoulders, the standard canvas, straight patch pockets, and limited on-seam pick stitching.

Helden is there anything different stylistically in the new system? Would be great to see a new system/old system comparo if you’ve got pics handy.

Thanks for the info. Maybe, ahem, KW and crew will publish the changes on website?

Both are very nice jackets, for sure! Love the lapel roll and patch pocket shape of the newest one!

Talk about a nice fit and the photographer did a great job too. I've been on the fence about ordering a KW suit because I like a button stance just above my navel and quarters on the more closed side. Both of your jackets fit the bill for me.

fit is really good for an online MTM, clean in the back too? I would changing buttoning point and pocket, but that's just me.

Another shot of this beauty from @Kent Wang and made from Abraham Moon & Sons tweed (this cloth is still available, fyi). I'm expecting to take delivery of a navy seersucker suit from KW any day now, but until that happens, I'll content myself with this.

Looks really nice. Out of curiosity, what are your thoughts on spread collars? I ask because that may be more flattering.

I think it was in Manton's book where it's written that if you have a long neck, spread or semi-thread works best. A straight point collar elongates your neck.

The oppostie is true as well. If you have a short neck, a spread collar makes it look shorter.

Looks great! I'm eyeing up a kent wang MTM tweed suit for this upcoming fall/winter...what sort of lapel choices/should expression/canvas did you choose? were they the same as your brown 3-piece tweed from a couple of weeks ago?
