Good to know. Will shoes be at the NYC trunk show? Your site states: "Kent Wang will bring a variety of wares and conduct fittings for custom shirts and suits. Suit fabric swatches, including a new selection of fall/winter fabrics, will be available." If shoes are there I might have to swing by. I'm curious to get a peek at these handgrades.

They were at the last one, before going into full production

A full size range of both benchgrade and handgrade shoes will be present. Nearly everything we sell will be available for your perusal at the New York trunk show Sept 25-28.

Here's a quick snapshot of my new KW navy hopsack blazer. It's pretty much exactly what I had hoped for, and being my third MTM order, I think I've gotten the fit dialed in pretty well now. Maaaaaybe I could go just slightly longer with the overall length, but honestly this picture was taken with a pretty low angle, so I think that is making the jacket look a tiny bit shorter than it actually is.

The fit looks great!!
The navy color is a little lighter than I would expected. Maybe it is due to the lighting?

Thanks! Yes, the navy is slightly darker IRL, I had trouble getting a good pic this AM (hazy and humid morning) so I tried to fix some of the white balance and contrast with some editing and the jacket color came out looking a little lighter than it actually is.

Hey,

I came across the Kent Wang collection of polos (http://www.kentwang.com/polos) on this forum, and read the following review:

http://www.gentlemansgazette.com/kent-wang-polo-shirt-grenadine-tie-review/

I really like the polo shirts and I'm planning to buy at least one, but I was wondering if anyone knows whether the polo shirt is still available in the blue pictured in the above review? I can't seem to find that colour on the site, and I was really hoping that the blue one hasn't been discontinued, although it's very plausible since the review is from 2 years ago.

Thanks,
J

The jacket looks really good. Is it the same hopsack fabric as KW sells, or did you go CMT?

Thanks! This was the hopsack that Kent sells, it's a really beautiful Australian wool. This still isn't a great pic, but I tried to show the hopsack vs my navy KW suit, which is a worsted wool. Hopsack blazer with brown horn buttons on the left, navy suit jacket with black horn buttons on the right. You can see the hopsack has a little more texture compared to the worsted suit jacket.

Yes, no, maybe. Instead of posting to a bunch of anonymous dudes on the internet, how about emailing the company?:fonz:

Thanks. I can indeed tell there's a bit more texture. I'm sure it's more apparent in real life. A couple last questions: did you go wide lapels or standard? either way, what size jacket is that? and i can't tell, but is that 3R2 buttoning? If so, how do you like it? My KW jacket is standard 2 button, but I have a few Polo made in Italy jackets that are 3R2 that I am very fond of.

Yeah, the texture is definitely more apparent IRL, and you can feel the difference in both fabrics when you can touch them. This jacket, just like my first 2 suits, has wide lapels. I think the wide option suits my body type better...the standard lapels were OK on the trial jacket, but I definitely prefer the wide on all my jackets.

The size is a modified 40R, which was changed to fit more like a 40L (I'm 6'4"), and I also had to increase a bunch of measurements to make it fit. The shoulders are pretty much the same as the trial 40R, but I had to increase the chest, armhole, and sleeve width a bit.

This is a 3r2 button jacket, just like my other 2 KW suits. I love the 3r2 - functionally, it's not any different than a standard 2-button, but it's one of those extra flourishes that is less common in a RTW jacket (for the most part), so it's a nice thing to have when going MTM.
