1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Someone got his historical dates muddled up.

The shoes worn by Olivier in 1957 could not have been made by George Cleverley but by Tuczek (in whose employment GC was at the time). Cleverley left the firm in 1958 to set up his own shop in Cork Street which he closed in 1976(?). The firm ‘Cleverley’ in London’s Royal Arcade, set up by John Carnera and George Glasgow, was established in the mid-90s.

Not quite that line of continuity we are led to believe.

Years ago (maybe 1999) I was doing a work experience placement and had to write a short bit about Terrence Stamp (might have been when The Limey came out).

That man is very much into his bespoke shoes. Had loads made then started doing Pilates which changed his posture and gait enough for him to have to replace them all.

I think Tuczek's grandson is even a member here. He posted a bit ago asking questions. Some people even have a few of his shoes.
