How do you need to alter them? I think the Kathmandu shirt would be an easy one to modify since you can slap more denim panels on it no?
I wear a Size 2. (Size 1 was too tight across the chest, and I suspect Size 1 is more for women since the chest measurements for it were a stretch even for XS-sized men IIRC.) The sleeves were too long for me, and by long, I mean covering more than half of my hand (the pains of being short). I had to shorten the sleeves somewhere between the elbow area and the cuff, because the normal methods of shortening a shirt from the cuff or from the top of the sleeve weren't ideal due to the patterning.
It hurt altering it in that way, but it worked for me and I honestly don't notice it anymore. I kept the fabric in case I need to patch it up, though TBH I can't find it right now...
I love the Kathmandu shirt and already have it both in blue and white. I think the addition of a band collar works really well with the style. Also, the band collar version is larger/oversized than the regular version, a feature I also really like (and which also works well with the current SF fit hive mind).

Hmm, interesting. I'd hope that a Size 1 would fit me better then (and then I wouldn't have to deal with the sleeve issue), but I also own the short sleeve version of the blue Kathmandu so I couldn't justify it unless I lost the long-sleeve one I already have.
