In other news, I just snagged this off of grilled. Kind of excited about it. The hood should be fun.

It may be an ode but I doubt they are stupid enough to not realize what was gonna happen. I personally think that it was a good move if they want to remove a huge portion of the people making fakes. Honestly I just wish brands would just take a stand against all this bullshit. Even Jun Takahashi was basically silenced for stating his belief on the Hong Kong extradition bill.

I honestly need to be off the internet, sometimes I feel like I get an overload of information that makes me feel like I'm slowly turning into a doomer.

The "Free Tibet" controversy has made its way to High Snobiety

FWIW they think it was a apolitical ode to Tibetan Freedom Concerts.
I hate when these incidents are portrayed as somehow percolating up from the grassroots in China. Headlines should say "XX enrages CCP thought police."

So you’re saying that guy on TikTok with the crappy house and one Kapital skeleton thing in his closet is somehow not some ordinary fuckhead, the Chinese version of a Trumper (in terms of poorly informed conservatism and chauvinism, not the racism part)?

Being from a country that is often the subject of stigmatizing US propaganda, I’m sensitive to wanting to push back against such narratives. At the same time, I’ve always been a bit hesitant about how it seems people sometimes go full hilt into denialism in doing so. Though I don’t know from personal research, I could well imagine that China, like so many countries today, has its own share of people with Trumpian political sophistication and crass nationalism. Maybe I’m wrong and all these IG comments are coming from the kids of government functionaries ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
