Man, I wish I could go buy things, but I’ve talked myself away from every cliff. Instead, I’ve thrifted and reworked a bunch of clothes I have and set aside stuff I never wear to trade/sell. The thought of buying a second ring coat at any discount is funny considering I rarely ever leave my house for anything other than working out and groceries.

I love Kapital but I feel like the last 3 season have been boring to me aside from a few standout pieces. I kinda wonder if they are still doing well with all this stuff going on and how many pieces they pump out per year. I still have my eye on the mud dyed century denim, and one day getting a boro blanket lined jacket though.

I was looking to get the alpine ripstop ring coat but the independence sale is tempting. Is the only difference between the alpine and regular ring coat the extra pockets or are there more design differences?

This is pretty much how I feel. They create a great overall feel, but most of the pieces in themselves have been unremarkable, even kitsch. When someone compared Bode to Kapital earlier this year, I resisted the comparison, but a lot of what Kapital has been doing lately is on that level of kitschiness.

What's consistently good is the stuff where they go totally nuts on boro. I used to think this was way too expensive, but now Cottle has come along and is charging the same price for what amounts to basically 3-year wash denim with some patches, and well, fleece, it doesn't look so crazy.

So this brings the total number of clothes bought in the last month up too...? Asking for a friend. ?

Good question. I think my pandemic spending since April has been a bit much. Most stuff I don't even post on here but it may be depressing to actually sit back and count. Let me try:

Whites: 4 boots (2 from Bakers, 2 from eBay)
John Lofgren: 3 boots
Viberg: one pair of used boots
Buttero: 3 sneakers (gave away one)
Kapital: one ring coat
Himel Bros: one jacket
FCL: two jackets, kept one
Studio D' Artisan: one jean, one patch chino
Strike Gold: one Type II jacket, one jean
PBJ: one jean, one shirt
RRL: 6 shirts, 2 T-shirts, one sweater
J Crew: bunch of T-shirts, button ups, and shorts on sale
Deus X Machina: 3 jeans (donated one), bomber jacket, 2 shorts
Epaulet: 3 shirts (donated one), 2 pairs of pants (donated one)
Huckberry: waxed trucker jacket
Massimo Alba: cashmere sweater
JMM: 3 pairs of glasses
Darn Tough: restocked all my socks with Darn Tough

I did sell a bunch of stuff too though including two pairs of Thursday's that I bought and resold at a loss but also some Gucci, BB etc. Also, it looks like my Independence order didn't go through and now the T-shirts are out of stock. I also managed somehow to zero out my CC every month, I guess I spread it out.

Pocket design is different. Also, the Alpine has snap buttons instead of regular ones.

I use the monocle emoji as "hmmm, closer look"

Pensive face is the most useful emoji though because it can be used for anything. It can be sincere, but also a punchline to a snarky comment, Sort of the "straight man" in a comedy duo face ?

The relieved face is also useful. Again, can be sincere when someone texts you a nice comment. Or it can be at the end of a slightly evil comment. ?

I was just trying to focus on the subject not the person, but since DWW reads every post on the forum instantly, he always knows...
