kamotejoe, is the material of that ring coat a textured cotton, almost moleskin-like? i ask because i think i just got the same one, but haven't really worked out how best to wear it yet... some great inspiration in your fit pics though!

Do any of you guys have experience with Kapital shirts like the aloha shirts or some of the knits? Just curious about sizing and wether they run small and/or short like a lot of Japanese shirts. I'm generally a medium across the board for the most part, but unsure if a size 2 or 3 would be best. Any thoughts appreciated!

I've got an aloha shirt coming in today or tomorrow from Standard & Strange. They have measurements on their site and I've found them to be accurate. Kapital also has measurements in their e-shop that seem pretty good from limited experience.

I'm generally a M/L and went with the 4 in this case. I'll be happier with this style a little oversized rather than undersized anyway.

Kapital sizing can be all over the place. I'm a Small in most Japanese and Western brands, which is normally a 2 in Kapital sizing as per other stockists. From my experience so far, here are my sizes.

  • Button up shirts (aloha, Kathmandu): 2
  • Ring Coat: 1
  • T-shirts: 3 (sized up)
  • Century denim: less than 34 (I'm normally a true 34 and I'm under the impression that they fit TTS. Either I lost weight or that's not the case anymore)

Ah I forgot S&S was a stockist. I'll check their site for some measurements.

I agree that sizing up and having a looser fit being preferable and kinda fits their aesthetic more.
