You can definitely order from their international site and have it shipped to the US. It's free shipping for orders over $138. I did so two weeks ago.

The US site is kamakurashirts.com. The international site is kamakurashirts.net. If you're new to the international site, it'll prompt you for the US store or the international store (in English or Chinese -- choose English and you're set).

I forgot about this .net site. One thing I wish they could do is have the same inventory on all sites. A quick search in my size reveals 34 button down collar shirts on the International site, while the Japanese site has 50. (But I also wish they had the same prices).

In order to facilitate a faster turn around, the US site has inventory that is located domestically. Hence the reason why the inventory and selection is different.

I'm not really sure why they did that though. I remember when ordering shirts from Japan directly, before the US site, they would arrive usually within 3-4 days.

There's always a proxy like fromjapan or zenmarket if you have to order via the Japan site

I suppose I am keeping the shirt considering I cut the tags off and I'm wearing it now...

So I bought this shirt back in NYC just before "everything happened".

It's such a good standard, boring shirt. I love it. The cotton is Xinjiang Cotton. It's only 80-count fabric but that's because (Kamakura says) they can get much longer threads from the cotton so they need far less. While it isn't as comfy as my sotkas-fabric shirt (that thing feels like I'm wrapped in super-luxe bed sheets on a rainy night and I'm cuddling my stuffed lamb, Lambie) it is certainly one of my most comfortable shirts.

Woke up today and felt like this is how my conversation would go with yall in this thread

Link to the shirt? This is a pretty ringing endorsement.

I actually like the fabric on my Xinjiang OCBD a lot too.

Just used my $50 coupon to grab a handful.

it was puzzling that I couldn’t order from the Japanese site using my code, only the US.

Shirts should arrive by Friday.

Where are you based?

I haven't looked at the Kamakura site for a while but, although you were able to ship internationally from the Japanese site, that option was switched off a few years ago.

I think that they have three sites now:
- The Japanese site - shirt.co.jp
- The US site - kamakurashirts.com; and
- The rest-of-the-world site - kamakurashirts.net.

I’m in Chicago. I shop at the Madison ave store when in NYC and online otherwise.

I received the email a few weeks ago. When I tried to enter the code via the .net site, it told me it was invalid. I did it though the US site and it worked.
