Going to pick up a knit shirt. Any recommendations on colour? Sky blue doesn't seem like the natural, versatile option here, like it would be with a dress shirt. I'm erring towards navy or light brown.

I got the light blue cut away collar. Very versatile. If you ever plan on wearing the shirt with a tie, that's probably your best bet. Only complaint I have with the knit shirts is the sizing. After washing and hang drying, the sleeves on the small are just a tad short. Sizing up to a medium for the sleeve length, however, would mean shoulders and waist are way too big. If the knit shirts came in dress shirt sizing, I'd buy like 10 in light blue.

I have a grey one, it's great dressed down. They aren't too far off a polo shirt with a structured collar and full buttons, so I think the grey is very versatile with denim etc.

Thanks, I ordered the light blue in the end. If the fit is spot on, I can see myself buying some of the other colours.

Finally allowed to open my christmas gift. Wanted to show some real-world shots of the cutaway!
Fit is unfortunately a little big, but nothing my tailor cannot fix. The fabric and buttons are beautiful! I fully endorse Kamakura!

Why not post a picture of YOU wearing the shirt to give a better gauge of the effect of the spread collar as it frames your face?

I'm a little disappointed with the shrinkage of the fabric on my Tokyo Slim shirts - the assistant in the store assured me that the try-on shirts are washed and indicative of the fit after shrinking has occurred. My 16/35 is about .5-.75" too short in the arms after 3 washes.

What's the typical stance on returning items after use? I'm not after a refund, I'd much rather swap them for 3 New York slim fits in 16/36.5 - I'm a little peeved that I've $240 on three shirts that are now all too short.

    How did you wash/dry them?

My local laundrette - I always ask for a cool wash and press. My Charles Tyrwhitt shirts have withstood 3+ years of this with far less shrinkage, that's my gripe.

I'm in the opposite boat. Wish my sleeves would shrink more on my OCBD.

Probably should have asked this before ordering, but I wear a 3 in Band of outsiders, perfect fit. Ordered the Vintage Ivy shirts in Tokyo Slim size L. Think i'll be good?

Has anyone gone MTM with them yet? I want to get some of the linen/cotton blend shirts made up. Their price is $180 per shirt. Not sure how that compares (Thomas Mason fabric) elsewhere.

I was going to, but then decided not to, because they can't adjust the waist.

What do you mean? Are the shirts just made up in one of their four cuts with the fabric the only way that they are custom?
