Is anyone else making shirts like this? Button down, one piece collars? Missed out on this guy on eBay and unfortunately, Kamakura doesn’t really make these more interesting looks in New York sizing anymore:

Does Kamakura have any kind of consistent sale cycle? Or US retailers with sales? Thinking about picking up a couple of shirts.

Cool, I'll keep an eye out for Black Friday. I recently subscribed to their emails and haven't seen 20% off though that would be great.

I do follow their social media. Just saw the announcement for pre-black Friday sale on their story. They said sale will start on 11/22. Old stocks for $70 and buy 2 get 1 free. It's also on the front page of their website now. https://kamakurashirts.com/

Can I get some sizing advice?

I bought a new chambray shirt from Kamakura's Black Friday sale. I'm generally happy with it, but it feels like it might be a smidge too tight. Larger sizes were out of stock.

I'm wondering if I should keep it or return/sell it and buy another shirt in a larger size. Shipping is a huge pain so I'd rather not.

What do you think? Does it look too small? Do I need to worry about shrinkage? I always wash cold in the machine and hang dry.

I think if you can, return or exchange. But I thought the whole BF sale was final sale.

I think it looks fine, wrinkled but not pulling. Perhaps some pulling in the upper chest/shoulder. If you're not comfortable in it 100%, I'd say let it go. It may also shrink marginally your first few washes. I remember I always laundered and steamed out the wrinkles to prevent any further shrinkage.

I think the fit is perfect! And I must say this head removal filter is a bit creepy 🤣

Lol. It's effective though!

Btw I ended up returning the shirt. I'm still considering whether going MTM or just ordering a size or two up.

Does anyone feel like sizing is a bit inconsistent? I got a few of the same sizes but in different shirts (some in similar fabrics but all with the same size chart) but they all somewhat fit better or worse than each other by a bit, but enough for it to be noticeable given I wear them pretty slim, so a bit more slim is obvious.

Mainly in the arm area for me personally

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
