never had seen it and it was on my list. definitely wasn't expecting such a serious film. i was impressed. what do you guys think?

The original version, I assume. It's one of my favorite British gangster movies for sure, and way up there on my list of movies in general. If you look for the British Gangster Movie thread you'll find some more discussion and suggestions.

It so happens I watched it this weekend as well, along with Gangster No. 1.
