I am sad, the end of my favorite time of the year. Just wanted to vent. That is all.

I didn't get a tree this year, but last Christmas I kept it around through most of January since I liked the smell of it so much.

The tree was fuckin' with my wife's allergies, so we decided today would be the day. It was recycled...

Ours is still here and lit. We were so busy this year that we never did get around to actually hanging ornaments, so it's adorned only with lights and a topper, but it's still nice. I'll probably drag it out to the garage sometime this week, but I don't mind having it up for just a bit longer.

Next year try a Frasier Fir. Short, soft needles, and generally not allergenic. Several years ago, we had a Douglas Fir, and I damn near died from allergies.

To the original topic, this year we had three trees (our home was in the local Christmas Tour). Two are gone, as they were dried out, but the big one remains for at least a few more days. It seems you can only relax after New Year's Day, as the visiting, etc. has ended, so why not leave things up to enjoy?

Our's are still up. Although they are starting to shed a bit now so plenty of bristles on the floor... I can't see them lasting much longer. It has been a great Christmas though!

Trees all packed back up in their boxes and in the attic.

The Christmas season still has 3 more days in it. We get rid of our trees on Epiphany every year. We've got two to take down this year, and they'll end up as mulch in the flower beds out front, in all likelihood.
