1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I don't think I've actually seen roaches coming out of chairs or computers. I occasionally find red centipedes in the sofa for some reason though. I frequently find roaches on the bathroom floor during the summer, where it's warm and damp. When I was in Guangdong and Zhejiang we got roaches all year round, but again these where usually in the bathroom.

Bugs have never really bothered me. Apart from when I was a kid, I used to be terrified of flies buzzing around the bedroom when I was trying to sleep. Because I could hear them, but not see them. No problem now.

did you consider consulting an exterminator?

If it was infested and a professional could not get rid of the problem I would definitely throw it away. If I saw two roaches on my desk near an area where I leave the door open regularly, I would not throw away my desk immediately.

Definitely did not come through the window.

Mike, as mentioned in this thread, already, i found 6 more in the base. 8 cockroaches, on a piece of furniture that small, is an infestation in my books. I am definitely not ok with that. I'm also not ok with bedbugs, or silver fish. Totally fine if you're accustomed to living with those things, I am not and have no intention of sharing my home with any of them. That all said, thank you for the link.

They came with the chair (it was in storage -read basement- of a heritage building for the last six months- before i picked it up.) As previously mentioned found six more in the base when i went to clean it out. My place is fine, (no evidence of any since the chair is gone). Spoke with an extermination company, they essentially said, based on the number, it likely has eggs, suggested boric acid and if that fails, then cushion replacement/reupholstering. :fu: at least they were honest.

Was it salvageable or is a bum sitting on a 10k chair right now?

long story, suffice it to say it is no longer in my possession. It was just the lounger, not worth anywhere near 10k (thankfully). There would've been a reupholstering immediately were that the case..

You can buy the cushions pre made, so you just replace them altogether, if it was mine I would have gone custom/bespoke with the leather/fabric.

OP, I have the Filson duffle you're looking for in your sig. It has seen a cockroach or two in the past but none right now.

Great! i have a set of eames lounge chair cushions i'll trade you for across the board. They have also seen a cockroach or 2. There may still be 1 or 2 (or 50) lounging about in there but based on your previous comments I don't foresee this being a deal breaker for you. please be sure to dry clean the bag before sending it my way as I have considerately powdered the cushions with a natural cleanser in anticipation of your use.
