So people here always seem to generalize about what type of person you will see wearing what jean, so I got kind of curious what stereotype each of us associates with some of the best known (most PC way of saying it
wink.gif
) jeans:

Diesel Levis (Capital E, STF, vintage, etc)

Nudie Acne

APC Prada

True Religion Rag & Bone

7s Gap

PDC Earnest Sewn

Citizens Corpus

Rock and Republic PBJ

45RPM 575

Sugar Cane Studio D'Artisan

Some of these brands are well known here, some not, some are well known to the general public, some not. Feel free to answer to some but not others, or to add to it. Let's see how many fights I can start here

Diesel: European, mall shopper or middle-aged rockstar wannabe

Levi's: Boring, going with the default - if LVC, props

Nudie: If new, "late bandwagoner," if worn, props

Acne: Swedish, stylish or dressed by the internet (tm DDML)

APC: Reasonable person

Prada: Meh

True Religion: Get over yourself

Rag&Bone: Style-conscious in a good way

7s: Girlfriend probably bought em

GAP: at least he cared enough not to get Old Navys

PDC: Definitely putting effort, but step up the game please

ES: Rarity, lots of disposable income, perhaps?

Citizens: White guy, trying hard to be stylin

Corpus: Knows how to dress

R&R: Get over youself

PBJ: What's your SuFu login?

45rpm: Good eye. Probably wealthy-ish.

575: Could be worse.

SugerCane: SuFu/SF lurker

Studio D'Artisan: First foray into Japanese denim.

Diesel : too much time on the gq forum Levis : classic american, esp. if true vintage Nudie : increasing ubiquity, so a bit trendy-ish Acne : European APC : French ~ a touch of culture Prada : denim? they make denim? why? True Religion : checks ass in mirror. often. Rag & Bone : a little bit of nonconformity. i have no basis for this 7s : attempt for style Gap : could go either way; i'll say PDC : angry that quality is falling Earnest Sewn : favors predistressed Citizens : no idea - i think watch Corpus : never heard of them Rock&Republic: never seen these on a guy PBJ : carl from sufu 45RPM : flair for quality [i've got a pair of 32x34 onewash black overdyes for sale
smile.gif

it's funny, i used to judge character by a person's choice of shoes.
now i definitely judge a man by his choice of jeans.

predistressed: a vain sort of man with soft hands; looking to reap rewards without the effort; a cardboard man; all exterior without depth

vintage: an honest man that does things his way, his fashion is a result of the way he lives, drinks beer from a can

japanese: a vain man that does things in earnest to subdue his true nature; fashion as an expression of an ideal way of living perhaps out of step with one's actual lifestyle; workwear for the cubicle-bound

i'm joking, i think

Agree w/Brian except for Diesel. When I see Diesel nowadays, I think hardcore- or indie-kid. (Unless they're on an older gent, in which case I think midlife crisis.)

That's got an uncomfortable kernel of truth there.
