I believe him. You can see the blue windowpane in the fabric close-up.

three suggestions for you:

1. unfinished sleeves on an oxxford really need func. buttonholes!! sometimes oxxford will do them for you, if you can get in contact w/them

2. light blue shirt, dark solid tie

3. white FC shirt, solid black knit tie, white pocket square in tv fold

Do you happen to know what that model is? It has a pretty high gorge and non-fishmouth notches. I only know of one such model in RTW...

Thanks for all the positive reinforcement guys. I have a good local Asian female tailor who does a very good job. I'll see if she can handle functional buttons.

Foxx: Don't own some of the ties you suggested. I'll see what goes. I do have quite a few so I'm sure I can find some good matches.

trust me, man-- you really should try a solid blue and solid black tie with that suit. you would never know it, but women LOVE the look-- especially with the pocket square in TV fold.

again, i recommend contacting Ben Silver (or ebay, "knit tie" if you want to try it very inexpensively) for a solid knit grenadine tie or two-- you'll get LOTS of use out of them.
