Thanks for the heads up on Bodileys. Having a supplier that will work with you to minimize duty is priceless.

+1.

Do you know the sizing of C&J well? If I am a 13E in AE?

I think you made a good purchase. Both pair are great for the money. Strands are my favorite shoes!

Not an illusion. The Fifth Ave (as well as the Park Ave) could benefit from a slightly longer toe cap.

Thanks for confirming. I think the cap length of the Strand is far superior to the Fifth/Park Ave. Hopefully AE will change the proportions of all their toe caps.

The fact that they are made by AE.

This is true. The foot might collapse in on itself.

I could not agree more. Something is off with the fifth avenues. However, there are still my go-to for conservative foot wear

Spent some time looking at them to eventually decide: on the R shoe there appears to be a 1" diameter circle of wear near the arch of the foot on the medial side. It's not noticeable on a quick glance, but my guess is that it was a store demo shoe or similar. For $200 I'm satisfied, since the sole will look like crap after a day's wearing anyways.
