Those are very stunning.

Aren't they?
I don't know who Jun Kuwana actually is (apart from being a collector of shoes). I have a hard time believing he's an actual human being. A google search turns up several references to a Japanese chemist by the name of Jun Kuwana, so maybe he's a mad chemist whiling away the hours with visions of shoes. Maybe centipede knows.
btw, I'm only guessing these are Jun Kuwana's shoes. For all I know they belong to Jon King or Junko Koshino (though the initials on the toes do seem to be a bit of a Kuwana trademark).

Jun Kuwana is the owner/webmaster of "˜Cobbler's-Web':
http://homepage2.nifty.com/cobblers-web/index.htm

He owns (at last count) 36 pairs of bespoke and numerous ready-to-wear shoes. His favourite workshops are Cleverley and Foster & Son in London.

If you ask about Kuwana, the man, there are probably not many people who will know him.

I bought a pair of shoes from his collection (he selling some RTW) and Bic Pentameter in Tokyo did the actual transaction. I'm sure Bic would have loved to visit him, see his collection and talk to him about shoes. But it was not to be. The whole deal went through via e-mail, bank transfer and parcel service.

Yes, I wonder about the man since Jun Kuwana is a well-known name in shoe pornography.

Like Russia, he must be a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma.

Don't be so modest. Doesn't that apply to you as well? Or are you a riddle wrapped in a mystery wrapped in a Cusack?

Why do I feel this thread is dovetailing, or crashing and burning, into the leather rhino one?

They may be part of the same pair: didn't someone recently say a new trend in Italy is to wear same-model shoes, but each in a different color? I think this can only add to the myth that is JK!
